The resurgence of the aerospace industry after the COVID years appears to be ongoing if the response to this year’s Farnborough Airshow is a benchmark to go by. The commercial aerospace industry has a very bright outlook, with revenues set to grow 14% year on year. Yes, there are numerous setbacks in terms of supply chain challenges, But the International Air Transport Association (IATA) has estimated that the global airline industry generated $30.5 billion in net income this year. Similarly, the space industry is also enjoying a renaissance. A report by the World Economic Forum expects the sector to be worth $1.8 trillion by 2035 with satellite and rocket-enabled technologies becoming increasingly prevalent.
With this as a backdrop, the Farnborough Air Show is expected to be busier than ever this year. It is reporting record-breaking demand for exhibition space as it reflects the positivity in the aerospace sector – a true sign that it is returning to the boom days pre-pandemic.
